Regarding our challenge

A difficult post to write but one which is necessary due to certain Social Media comments and accusations which have been made with regard to how the challenge is run.

The aim of the challenge since June 2010 has always been to provide a forum for crafters to share their artwork along with the opportunity to win prizes provided by generous sponsors.

The Design Team, many of whom are long standing members give their time on a voluntary basis, do not receive any form of inducement and each month provide artwork as inspiration for our entrants and take time to comment on those entries.

I and in turn my team will not be intimidated by gossip or false claims about how the challenge is run. If any crafter has an issue about how the challenge is run then they are welcome to send me a personal e.mail from the link on the challenge blog sidebar. Social Media and closed formats are not the appropriate place and I on behalf of the challenge, my team and sponsors will report to the appropriate body, taking into account GDPR regulations, any such dialogue of which I/we have or may become aware.

Our aim is to provide a friendly environment for crafters and to this end we will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour or comments and regularly review those and our rules to ensure all remain in the best interest of our entrants as a whole.

Brenda

  3. I just don't understand people. Some people are so brazen behind a keyboard. Sorry you are dealing with that type of junk. Keep crafting!!!

  5. So sorry to hear that you’ve been receiving negative comments about the challenge, Brenda. If people have an issue with how it’s run, they don’t have to join in. It’s so easy hide behind a keyboard and write things they wouldn’t say to your face. Thank you to you and your DT for the time and effort you put in running a great challenge for us to enjoy joining in with. xx

  7. I had a shock when I saw the title of this post, I feared it was going to be a closure announcement.
I know all the hard work involved in running a challenge or being on the design team, all of it unpaid and purely for the sake of sharing pleasure and inspiration with fellow crafters. I don't know what has been said, but I have every confidence in you and the teams of all the challenges you run. You give so much of your time to your crafting friends, and I and many others are truly grateful to you for it.

  8. I was so very sorry to read your sad comments Brenda. It is so disappointing when people can not live in harmony and good will. I have always found the crafting community to be welcoming and very supportive. Therefore it is even more disappointing that such comments have been posted. Please know that you and your wonderful team do a super job and are much appreciated by most. So don't let one or two bring you down. Sending big hugs. Here's to the future with your great challenges!! :) xx

  10. Holy snikeys! I don't know what the problem is nor have I heard of anything. How mean spirited some people are and they're good at it behind a keyboard. One should never pass on gossip. Go to the source is what we were taught. Sorry to hear about the aggravation. Don't let it get to you. [Bunny]

  13. Oh my God. I left a comment on Allsorts challenge. It happens the same to Chocolate Baroque too? Incredible. Brenda, please be strong. The world, unfortunately, has bad people too. But we, crafters, are good people and we love creating and sharing our creations. I send you a big hug, my friend.

  15. I'm so sorry to hear that you've been getting negative comments about the challenges, and can't even begin to imagine what anyone would have a problem with. It's bad enough when anyone makes unkind comments, but when you and your team are volunteering your time for the enjoyment of other crafters, it's just unforgivable. I hope it is only one or two disgruntled ones who are causing a problem, and that they will crawl back into their hole and remain there until they can behave.
I hope the feedback that you've gotten here let you know how much you are appreciated. None of my friends or family stamp or make cards, so this crafting and challenge community is what keeps me trying new things and stretching. Thank you for all you do!
